::Bridal Bootcamp: Volume 2::
This week I learned the importance and effectiveness of making and keeping a routine. I was at the gym 6 of 7 days this week by 7:30 a.m. That sounds a little braggy (but I am really proud of myself), but it has given me such motivation to continue. Beginning my day with a 30-45 minute workout gave me enough energy and focus to last the entire day; it enabled me to feel completely ready to face whatever hurdles came my way, unless they were actual hurdles, because my legs could not have handled it.
I not only created a new fitness routine this week, I also shifted my eating habits. After speaking to my trainer about the importance of a healthy diet, I changed from eating 2-3 meals a day, most of them not the healthiest, to 4-6 small, healthy meals (snacks included). It was anywhere from oatmeal, a banana, a protein shake (chocolate protein mix, banana, oats and unsweetened almond milk) in the mornings to trail mix, vegetable assortments, salad for mid-day/dinner. I have really noticed a change in both my metabolism and cravings.
Now, on to the workouts! The biggest thing for me is building stamina. I chose to focus on the stairmaster, it gives you a great cardio workout. The key is to keep your posture upright and to maintain breath control and stay hydrated! Start small, 10 minutes perhaps, and build throughout the week. Before you know it, you’ll be at 45 minutes no problem. It’s also important to note you don’t have to do 30 minutes of cardio every day, but if you're looking to lose body fat and weight, you should be doing at least 30 minutes of cardio 4 days a week.
Next let’s take a look at some great exercises to do in order to get your body ready to fit into your wedding dress! Below, you'll find a great routine put together by the lovely ladies over at Tone It Up! They have some great recommendations- check them out!
Remember: stay focused, stay positive and stay true to you!
