“Thou Shall Communicate with Thy Planner”
As with any successful relationship, communication is key, and the same holds true with the relationship you have with your wedding planner. Whether you hire a planner from the day after you get engaged or if you wait until a few months before you say “I do,” it is vital you communicate openly and truthfully.
The bond you form with your wedding planner should be one built on trust, mutual respect, and open communication. When meeting initially with your planner, remember a few things: What do you hope to gain from hiring a planner? What is your vision for your day of love and celebration? Where do you need the most help in the planning process? Your conversations should be organic and flow as if you were speaking with a friend.
If during the planning process you get discouraged, confused, or just need to talk to someone- talk to your planner! She (or he) is there for you! They want you to have a marriage that will last a lifetime, and want it to be a day your family and friends will never forget. We are so grateful and honored you have placed an enormous amount of trust in helping plan and guide you through those tough decisions! And remember the ‘golden rule’: “You know what happens when you assume ….”
