When you get engaged, one of the first things you get to do is pick your bridesmaids. Your big day would not be the same without your closest friends! However, although it is unlikely, circumstances may present themselves where it becomes apparent that one of your choices is not going to work out. In this case, you may have to fire a bridesmaid.
Before you decide to sever wedding party ties, it may be a good idea to have a conversation with her and discover exactly why things are not working out. Often it is not so much that she needs to be fired as much as she really just needs to be let off the hook. She may be experiencing some life, work or relationship stress that is preventing her from being able to support you on your big day. It also may be that she is experiencing some financial difficulties that she is too embarrassed to discuss. If, after having this conversation, you still think that it is best that she is not in the wedding, let her know. Be gentle, caring and honest. But overall, it is better to have a toxic energy out of your wedding party than to keep someone in just because you feel badly. After all, it is your big day!
I hope you all had a fabulous Easter!
